ACTRA Agreement (2011- 2014)

The Association of Canadian Advertisers, along with the Institute of Communication Agencies, negotiates the National Television and Radio Commercial Agreement with the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA), which covers talent payment and working condition details for performers in broadcast commercials in English Canada. The current three-year contract runs until 2014, and covers such areas as Compensation for Use and Reuse, Talent Cycles, Work Permits, Casting and Auditions, Definitions, Rates and Working Conditions.

The current agreement, for the first time, includes a Pilot Project with workable rates for commercials made for New Media, and much more favourable conditions for clients to produce large-cast spots. Have a look through the agreement itself or take advantage of the expert advice from Winnie Alford, the ACA’s Talent Advisor, who is completely familiar with the entire agreement.

For more information, or to request a copy of the agreement, please contact Bob Reaume, Vice President, Policy & Research of the ACA at (416) 964-0248 / 1-800-565-0109 / breaume@ACAweb.ca.
