Advertising to Children in Canada: A Reference Guide (Revised May 2006)

Advertising to children is an area of marketing and marketing communications that the Canadian industry treats with the highest degree of conduct and accountability.

The purpose of this reference guide is to provide industry stakeholders with an opportunity to learn more about the specifics of advertising to children, and to increase the understanding of the role of regulation in this area, including food advertising.

This guide has been published through the following industry associations: the Association of Canadian Advertisers, Advertising Standards CanadaCanadian Association of Broadcasters, Concerned Children’s Advertisers and Institute of Communication Agencies.
